I purchased this 9 x 12 small black chalkboard in Wal-Mart. Will some paint, glue, lace, flower and embellishments I created a place to post a word or phrase for the day in my room. Enjoy!
What better thing than to leave the mundane world behind by getting lost in brushes and swirls!! Being CREATIVE is my passion. I love ART. My goal is to share my expressions thru mixed media. Art journaling, Artist Trading Cards (ATC), greeting cards and crafts are a few of my styles.

Ruby's Shabby Chic Creation - Christmas Ornaments
Back in the 90's when my kids were little I wanted them to be able to decorate the Christmas tree and not worry about losing an ornament because it fell and broke. I went and bought bags of white satin ornaments, lace, flowers, ribbons and a hot glue gun. Here are some of the many ornaments I created and these are still the ornaments that decorate our 7 foot tree every year.

D R E A M wooden block and curtains - Ruby's Shabby Chic Creation
Here is a double take on my creation…
I went to a workshop and made the "T E X A S" blocks but of course this shabby chic girl wanted to create my version with lace and ribbons so…
I turned the wooden blocks around and created "D R E AM".
This is what I used (see pictures for a closeup of the details) and checkout the "curtains" I made.
BLOCKS
Wood blocks
Modge Podge
Old Book
Ink Pad = Distress Vintage Photo Color
D R E A M letters
Tacky Glue, Lace, Ribbon, Flowers, Button, Rubber stamp, Stazon, Yarn and more.
CURTAINS
Made some curtains (fabric from Hancock Fabric Store) and burlap (roll from Wal-Mart)

Ruby's shabby chic - Holds Make Up, Brushes, and more (Mason Jars)
Who doesn't have mason jars and a glue gun!
This is what I created to hold my makeup brushes and makeup.
Fits nicely on my bathroom counter and keeps me organized.
Here are a few more pictures when I was creating them.
The possibilities are endless….
