Wild About Texas INFORMATION

The Salado Village Voice newspaper has a column written by Mr Michael Price. In this column he focuses weekly on the natural world around us. His intent is to present information about the insects or animals. My intent is to research more information about the creature he chose and use watercolor and prismacolor pencils to illustrate it. 
Please note that I never use the image he has in the newspaper but I research my own and I add extra information that I read. Since the column stated, February 4th 2016, I have done and will try to do every column he posts for one year. 
Below I have a sample of what all the pages look like:

1. Table of Content
2. Even numbered pages have the newspaper article
3. Odd numbered pages have the watercolored/colored pencil drawings and researched information.

Challenge: Cat

A colleague of mine gave me a challenge.  She asked me to draw a picture she had in her phone and I did.  Not bad for a 15-minute drawing with a regular pencil.

HOW THIS PICTURE CAME ABOUT…
Alternated with my 17 yr old son - I painted for 5 minutes - He painted for 5 minutes - I painted for 5 minutes - He painted for 5 minutes (You get the idea!) We did this for 1/2 hour and this is what came out! - It started as a woman and it is a clown.  Love it!
